Connect your assistant

Use your own assistant to read your diary or record a meal draft, weight, activity or daily reflection. You need an active Oregano participant account. Access to custom connections also depends on your AI provider and account. Public directory listings and consumer-app connection tests are pending.

Connection

Server URL: https://app.botoregano.com/mcp

1. In your assistant, add a custom MCP connection with this URL. Select OAuth if prompted.
2. Sign in on the Oregano page. Read the connection notice. Grant read access, or read and write access.
3. Return to the assistant and select the Oregano connection in your conversation.

You do not need an Oregano API key. If a provider requires client credentials despite dynamic registration, contact support.

Provider setup

• ChatGPT: enable Developer mode under Settings → Security and login, then add the server from Plugins. Account or workspace policy can limit access. OpenAI instructions.
• Claude: add a custom connector from the Connectors settings, then complete OAuth. Anthropic instructions.
• Grok: open Connectors → New Connector → Custom. Enter the server URL and sign in. xAI instructions.
• Gemini: Oregano support is still in preparation. Google's custom-app route uses Connected Apps → Custom apps for Spark in the web app, then Spark on web or mobile. It currently requires an eligible personal US account, age 18 or older, and Keep Activity. The documented interface is English. The Google OAuth callback still needs verification before Oregano can enable it. Google instructions.

What to ask

• “Review my diary for the past four weeks. State which days have missing records.”
• “Record 50 g of oats as a draft for today's breakfast. Estimate and label the ingredient nutrients.”
• “Record my weight: 74.2 kg this morning.”
• “Record yesterday's 30-minute walk. Estimate its energy use.”
• “Save today's reflection: I slept well and had a calm day.”

Record limits

Past diary data can be read by date range. All writes use today or yesterday in Europe/Budapest. Meals become drafts; accept them in Oregano. The assistant can list, change or delete eligible drafts. It cannot delete an accepted meal. It can add or delete eligible weight and activity records. A daily reflection can be saved before the app's evening prompt; its limit is 160 characters.

The assistant must provide each ingredient, its quantity and all nine nutrient values per 100 g. Oregano calculates totals. Missing values produce an error that identifies the fields to correct. Activity records also need the assistant's energy estimate. These tools cannot run Oregano's AI, image, audio or web processing.

Data access and disconnection

The connection accesses only your linked account. Read access includes diary entries, drafts, profile goals and expert notes. Photos, audio, login credentials and other participants' data are not exposed. The external assistant handles the returned data under your provider account's settings and terms. The connection supports personal tracking; it does not provide diagnosis or treatment.

To stop access, open Oregano → Fiók → Külső asszisztensek and disconnect the selected connection. You can also remove it in your assistant. Revocation stops new access; it does not delete data already present in the provider's conversations.

Connection problems

If no connection option is visible, check your provider's account and regional requirements. If OAuth fails, verify the full server URL and sign in to an active Oregano participant account. If a record is rejected, let the assistant correct the named fields and retry. Keep the same operation key for a network retry. For an unresolved problem, send support the provider name, time and error code. Do not send passwords or tokens.
